SWF Opener is a Microsoft Windows-based answer to the problem of viewing all formats of movies, clips or games in Adobe Flash.
SWF is the main format for displaying animated vector graphics on the Internet. Viewing SWF files can be done via a browser but opening the SWF files can be done via this straightforward player.

Downloading and SWF Opener will optionally load and install various toolbars and change default home pages, so it is as well to pay attention. Files can be associated with SWF Opener or the file menu can be used to select a file to play. Options to set scale mode are included and can be selected within the player as well as by command line prompts.

Pros: Reduced lag; full screen option; view and save IE and Mozilla cached movies.

Cons: None; the product matches its brief.

Conclusion: This is a freeware product which can be useful for viewing Flash FLV and H.264 (MPEG-4) videos files downloaded from, for example, YouTube.
